Our idea is to offer the most value for money. Therefore we only offer the bicycles for sale online. However, we have a show room in Devonport (Auckland, NZ) with limited opening hours. It is also possible to arrange a meeting at the show room for other times.
At the moment we offer payments through Paypal, which means that you can pay with Credit or Debit card, as well as PayPal balance or from your bank account.
The package is couriered to your door with a typical courier company. We cooperate with a distribution company and they organise all deliveries.
All packages are couriered from Auckland. We send all packages on the same day (if ordered before lunch) and delivery time depends on where you live.
When you buy a Stålhästen bicycle, we will send it for free.
If you only buy accessories, then it will be NZD 20 per order, or free on all orders over NZD 200.
The bicycle is almost assembled when you take it out of the box. You will only need to attach the easy parts: pedals, handle bar, front wheel and saddle. So until IKEA opens up in NZ, we are the only company to offer Swedish flat packs for your assemblying enjoyment...
This is accomplished nicely with a Phillips screwdriver, Allen key and adjustable wrench. We will also send you a manual with complete instructions.
If you prefer, it is easy for a bicycle mechanic to assemble it as well. Or if you are in Auckland, we are able to assemble the bicycles for pick-up in the show room.
The handle bar and saddle is adjustable, so that you can fine tune the bicycle to your riding style.
We recommend our ladies bicycle if you are taller than 160 cm, and the gentlemen bicycle if you are taller than 170cm.
Our classical models have a Schrader-/car valve and Stålhästen Sport has a racing-/presta valve. Most modern pumps have nozzles for these valves.
Our handsome leather saddles require some care. They are quite sturdy, but in order to last even longer, there are a few things to consider:
1. The most important thing is related to water. The saddle can be wet, but it is important to let it dry on its own (and not dry it rapidly with a blow dryer or in the sun).
Also take care not to mount a wet saddle as there can be color transfers (from saddle to pant or vice versa).
2. The best way to protect the saddle is to use leather protection. There are various products on the market, so follow the manufacturers instructions, but a rough guide would be to put on a thin layer of the cream/fat, let it be for a couple of hours and the wipe off excess product with a dry piece of cloth.
Sadly, bicycles are stolen from time to time. Therefore, you might want to write down the frame number of your Stålhästen, which will make it easier to identify your bicycle if it is found again.
The number is punched under the Stålhästen badge in front, or under the crankcase.
You are always welcome to contact us at email@example.com or use the contact form below to the left, or above in the menu bar.
We will answer your email as soon as we can (within a couple of hours). We can also call you if you prefer to talk (and send us your number).
